The supreme court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government, If there were hundreds of farmers at the demonstration, why were there just 23 eyewitnesses? in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.

Senior Judge Harish Salve, arguing for the Uttar Pradesh government in the supreme court, told the court that out of 68 witnesses, 30 testimonies had been recorded and 23 people claimed to be eyewitnesses to the occurrence while filing the status report has accomplished.


The supreme court resumed another hearing in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case today. The supreme court ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to provide security to witnesses of the incident during the hearing. The court has also ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to respond to the investigation into the murders of journalists Raman Kashyap and shyam Sundar in the Lakhimpur unrest. The case will now be heard again on november 8. During this time, the supreme court posed numerous queries to the Uttar Pradesh government.

If you have 23 eyewitnesses, the CJI says you should investigate every angle and option before taking action. The CJI went on to say that there was a crowd of 4000-5000 people at the scene, all of whom were locals, and that even after the incident, the majority of the people are still agitated. However, identifying these individuals should be simple.

The most crucial aspect is witness protection: Many people in the crowd, according to the supreme court Chief Justice, will be hesitant to provide information to the wrong persons. It's critical to find credible witnesses. 


Are there any witnesses who have been hurt? Test the video as soon as possible. Otherwise, we'll have to train the lab ourselves. The safeguarding of witnesses is critical in this situation. We are in charge of witness protection. All of the witnesses' statements should be recorded in front of the magistrate.
