The price of fuel has surpassed Rs.100 for the first time in
tamil Nadu. As a result, key commodities such as rice and lentils are at risk of rising in price.
petrol and gasoline prices are rising as a result of the central government's rise in excise duty and the state government's increase in value added tax. Even after the Corona curfew was lifted, gasoline and
diesel prices continued to rise due to increased taxes.
As a result,
diesel is being sold in
tamil Nadu for the first time at Rs 100.61. Motorists and the general public were taken aback by this. Meanwhile, truck owners have increased freight truck rent by 20% for critical products such as grains, lentils, oil, wheat, vegetables, and sand. As a result, there's a chance that vital commodity prices will rise.
S. Yuvraj, a spokesperson for the All
india Motor Transport Congress, stated, "The trucking
industry has already been immobilised by the Corona curfew. Meanwhile, the cost of
diesel is increasing. The price of a litre of
diesel has now surpassed Rs.100. In a situation where we can't make up for the significant losses we've suffered, we've increased freight truck rental rates by 20%. Furthermore, we are advising on the necessity for the
central government to put gasoline and
diesel price hikes under GST and to
strike as soon as possible."
