Online Caste Certificate for Indigenous People TN!
The tamil Nadu government has informed the chennai High court that caste certificates for tribals and other castes will be provided online. In 2010, the government announced a policy on behalf of the Department of Revenue, based on the Government's policy decision to issue caste certificates, residency certificates, income tax certificates, and first-generation graduate certificates electronically, to reduce unnecessary delays.
When applying for a Caste Certificate for Indigenous Peoples, the Revenue Commissioner has the authority to issue digitally signed certificates online after receiving approval and input from the Grama Niladhari Officer, Revenue Analyst, and Tahsildar.
When the case came up for hearing in Judge Kalyanasundaram's session today (Oct. 01), counsel Duraisamy and Ilangovan, representing the petitioner, argued that the years-long delay in issuing caste certificates to tribals would hurt the students' studies and employment and that the case would be dragged out in the name of investigation and verification.
On behalf of the Commissioner of Revenue, Panindra Reddy, the then-Attorney General filed a copy of the order, noting that caste certificates would be granted electronically to tribals, as well as the backward, most backward, and Scheduled Castes, and that applicants should also apply online. The case was closed by the judges who recorded it.
