People are getting increasingly complacent as the threat of the third wave of COVID-19 looms, failing to follow correct regulations and maintaining social distances. A bunch of people in Mumbai's Juhu thrashed a BMC clean-up marshall as he sought to receive a penalty from someone who wasn't wearing a facial mask in a recent instance.

According to a municipal employee, the incident occurred on monday when a BMC officer attempted to collect a penalty to someone who was not wearing masks. According to a top media outlet, he continued, "We insist on taking a picture only in case a person refuses to pay the fee claiming that they are wearing the face mask." However, when the officer attempted to collect a fine, he was assaulted by a group of individuals.

This follows a similar occurrence in Mumbai's Kandivali district earlier this year, in which a lady who was not wearing masks assaulted and slapped a female BMC officer when the latter sought to stop her. On social networking sites, footage of the incident had gone viral on social media. Earlier today, the BMC and mumbai police fined over 15,000 mumbai residents for violating COVID-19 regulations.
