Due to this a curfew was declared across the country after just one person got tested positive and later the new zealand government has imposed very strict restrictions on auckland due to population density.

A 90-year-old woman from auckland was killed by corona virus right now and also, more than 720 people in auckland alone are affected by corona. So far 3,752 people in new zealand have been affected by corona and the death toll has risen to 28 already.
Commenting on the severity of the corona, new zealand Prime minister Jacinda said, "This death is a reminder of the importance of the drastic measures we all should follow and we are taking several steps to control the spread and we request the people of new zealand to follow all the protocols we have initiated and now we are in the race to eliminate the deadly virus once again from our Nation."
