Chennai Floats due to Incessant Rains!

Heavy rains in chennai since early morning flooded various parts of the city and Water stagnated on the roads caused traffic congestion in many places. Heavy rain began to fall since dawn, due to the circulation of the atmospheric mantle prevailing along the tamil Nadu coast. Areas including Perambur, Vyasarpadi, Madhavaram, Kolathur, Kodambakkam, Mylapore, Chepauk, Tiruvallikeni, Alwarpet, Rayapettai, Purasaivakkam, Anna nagar, Koyambedu are completely floated in the waters as we can see waterlogging in lots of roads.


 

A tree fell on the road near the lower part of the Poonamallee highway, affecting traffic, and vehicles were diverted through another parallel road. This caused traffic congestion from Kilpauk to Anna nagar Arch. Due to the stagnant water on the road, car accidents also occurred and that created even more chaos.



As various parts of the city of chennai were submerged in rainwater, the corporation road workers came to work regardless of the rain, removing the blockages in the rainwater drain and draining the stagnant water on the road. The steady drizzle continues even now in several parts of chennai and despite unlocking happened, people of chennai are unable to come out due to this incessant rainfall.
