Hinduja National Power Corporation Limited (HNPCL) is all set to start first unit of 520 MW of the 1040 MW Thermal Power Project near Visakhapatnam by the end of the December’14. Thereafter the second unit of 520 MW will be ready by January’15. It will be great sigh of relief for two Telugu states especially to Telangana. Hinduja officials seek to sign PPA agreements with two states.
Since last two days, delegations were going on between Hinduja and AP Energy officials. They have discussed each and every point in the agreement including to sell Power to the Third Party. Chief Minister CBN rejected the Hinduja proposal of selling of Power to the Third Party if AP not willing to purchase. CBN told to AP Jenco officials that AP would purchase 100% from the plant that produced by HNPCL.
If there is any surplus, AP Government will sell to other parties. CBN thought not to involve Hinduja in selling surplus power. Hinduja likely to be decided to sell per unit costs around 3.49 paisa including all expenses. This is not good news to Telangana government. KCR already make an allegation that CBN controlled Hinduja group and not allowing them to sell power to Telangana.
