Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the new chairperson of HCL Technologies

Reportedly India's richest woman Roshni Nadar Malhotra on friday was appointed as the chairperson of HCL Technologies board of directors, according to a statement released by the IT giant. Malhotra, 38, assumed charge as the HCL chairperson after her father, Shiv Nadar, stepped down from the position. Shiv Nadar will continue as HCL Managing director and Chief Strategy Officer of the company.

 

Roshni Nadar Malhotra, the only child of Shiv Nadar, had been executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation, vice-chairperson of board of HCL Tech and trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation before she was appointed as the HCL Tech chairperson. It is worth mentioning that she was elevated as executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation the holding company of HCL Technologies and HCL Infosystems just a year after joining HCL. She was inducted as an additional director HCL Tech’s board in 2013. Over the years, Malhotra has been deeply involved in brand building activities across HCL Group.

 

Malhotra grew up in delhi and studied in Vasant Valley school, following which she graduated from Northwestern university with specialization in communication. She later graduated with a Master’s in business Administration from Kellogg school of Management in the United States. Malhotra has won many accolades and awards over the years. She has also been featured in forbes list of “The World’s Most Powerful Women” from 2017 to 2019.
