Interstate Bus Services started by APSRTC

amaravati sources stated that the andhra pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) which has resumed their operations on May 21 after prolonged lockdown period has gained an income of Rs. 29.44 crore till date after resuming services across the state.  Chief Secretary nilam sawhney has written letters to telangana, karnataka and odisha to run inter-state services. ap government to take a final decision on interstate transportation facilities today. Meanwhile, during the lockdown period, the rtc has incurred a loss of Rs. 1,200 crore.

 

 

Out of Rs. 29.44 crore income earned by apsrtc, around f Rs. 58 lakh were earned through online payment and offline revenue share of Rs 1.26 crore. Before the lockdown, only about 12 per cent of online bookings were made online. But people prefer online transactions after the COVID-19 outbreak and the online ticket booking has constituted 32 per cent. An average of 1,922 ground booking points served for offline ticket bookings. Initially, the apsrtc has resumed back only 17 per cent of operations. apsrtc has earned an average income of Rs. 1.84 crore per day.  On average, around  8.05 lakh buses travel per day across the AP. apsrtc gained an average income of Rs. 7,955 per bus.  With this, apsrtc has been planning to increase bus services from Monday. The number of seats will be reduced in all the buses to follow social distancing.

 

Moreover apsrtc possess more than 14,000 buses including all types of services, but it is making use of only 2,323 buses per day, on an average. On the other hand, telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), which resumed operations with 70 per cent of the buses. But initially, got occupancy less than 20 per cent but apsrtc achieved an average of 49 per cent occupancy.
