Pawan Kalyan appreciated Vijayakant for offering portion of land by his family to bury coronavirus victims
Reportedly on april 20, actor cum politician Vijayakant surprised many by announcing that he would offer a portion of land near Shri Andal Alagar college of Engineering, an educational institute owned by his family to bury the coronavirus victims. His generous act won the hearts of many including telugu Superstar pawan Kalyan. The Vakeel Saab star took to social media to appreciate Vijayakant's kind gesture.
He wrote, "An amazing and Noble gesture by Thiru @Vijayakant, DMDK leader and Superstar for offering a part of his college land for ‘Corona victims’, where they have been denied burial in their own community burial grounds (sic)." Vijayakant's decision to offer his land came after a group of people attacked the family and friends of Chennai-based Dr Simon Hercules, when they arrived at the cemetery in Anna nagar to bury him.
The doctor became the victim of the novel coronavirus after serving the infected patients till his last breath. Vijayakant, in his statement, requested the ruling government to educate people about the novel coronavirus and how the infection will not spread through corpses. He also instructed his DMDK party members to create awareness about the same. He said "If this is the situation for doctors, then imagine the plight of commoners". Last week, local residents of Ambattur expressed their apprehensions in cremating the body of an orthopedic surgeon in their locality, who died due to the novel coronavirus complications.
