Telangana - Cabinet sub-committee seeks recommendations on Yasangi crop season advancement
In order to discuss various data-facets of crop management during the Yasangi season, the cabinet subcommittee convened its first meeting with the stakeholders on wednesday at the State Secretariat. The cabinet subcommittee, which also included Ministers Gangula Kamalakar, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Koppula Eshwar, and A Indrakaran Reddy, was presided over by Agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy.
Although the State government's farmer-friendly policies have helped the agriculture industry advance significantly over the past nine years, the Yasangi crop has become a problem for both the farmers and the State government. Unseasonal rains are causing paddy and other crops to lose before they can be harvested. The chief minister advised moving forward the crop season to lessen the losses and formed a cabinet subcommittee to look into the matter.
As a result, the Ministers talked about Yasangi season crop management concerns, rice types that produce great yields with little time and effort, alternative crops, and other issues. During the conference, they also discussed the unpredictable rainfall, losses suffered, and the steps that needed to be done to advance the harvest season.
