More one-stop crisis centers for Women

To guide the woman who is distressed, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has four one-stop crisis centers on March 8th, which is known for woman as Woman’s Day. Apart from 8 centers which are already in execution, the Ministry has planned to open 5-6 centers every month.


The International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th and centers will be started at Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and in Meghalaya and Assam foundation stones are laid. The WCD Minister Maneka Gandhi has said that the one stop services are organized to safeguard woman who are affected because of violence.


The Ministry has also allocated sufficient funds for the construction purposes for more than 30 states. The construction work will commence at the earliest and as per the new project, nearly 660 centers will be organized which will cover mostly all the districts across the country.


Through the centers the woman will be given medical support, counseling, legal and police help will be provided to the distressed women in the country. The amenities given to the women are recommended by Justice JS Verma committee.
