Despite a 5-Day long weekend, High Ticket Rates, 'Mersal' per day average remains lower than 'Vivegam'

Ajith's 'Vivegam' continues to be superior at the Chennai Box-Office despite 'Mersal' has the benefit of double taxation, GST and a long weekend. Ajith's 'Vivegam' also had housefull shows even on the weekdays. A leading trade analyst confirms the same.

Even after all the controversies and publicity, the movie is struggling to find the audience. The online booking status shows even Chennai's most loved theaters are having free tickets. There's no mad rush as expected. Piracy is also said to be one of the reasons as a clear print of the movie with Original Audio is going viral.
