Sonu Sood’s Motivation Behind the Gift!!
Sonu Sood and Son Ayan gift a Mechanical Elephant to a chennai Temple
Bollywood actor sonu sood — widely admired for his humanitarian work — along with his young son Ayan Sood, has gifted a life‑data-size mechanical elephant to the Sri Shakthi Vinayagar temple in Chennai.
The mechanical elephant has been named Airavata, inspired by the mythological white elephant of Lord Indra, known in Hindu tradition as a majestic and sacred divine vehicle.
This special robotic elephant closely resembles a real elephant in appearance and movement, offering devotees a visually impressive and respectful representation during temple festivities and rituals.
A Thoughtful and Compassionate Gift
Sonu Sood’s gesture reflects his long‑standing commitment to kindness and ethical living. He is well known for his varied charitable initiatives — particularly in education, skill training, healthcare, and disaster relief, including his highly‑praised support during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
The idea behind gifting a mechanical elephant was to support the temple’s tradition without involving or harming real animals.
The temple had earlier announced that it would no longer use live elephants for festivals or ceremonies. This decision was rooted in concern for animal welfare and the wellbeing of captive elephants traditionally used in processions.
Collaboration with Animal Welfare Groups
Sonu Sood collaborated with PETA india (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and people for Cattle in india (PFCI) to bring this project to life.
Representatives from both organizations were involved in designing and facilitating the mechanical elephant, ensuring it both respects tradition and promotes compassion toward animals.
Why sonu sood Donated the Mechanical Elephant
Sonu explained his motivation, saying temples should embody kindness, devotion, and humanity.
He said that by donating the mechanical elephant, temple traditions can continue in a way that doesn’t harm any living being.
He highlighted that this gift is a blessing for devotees and offers freedom for elephants, allowing them to live without the stress and hardships often associated with captivity.
Ayan Sood Is Proud
Sonu’s son, Ayan Sood, expressed his pride in being part of this meaningful donation.
Ayan said he is especially happy that the mechanical elephant will help ensure rituals are conducted safely and kindly.
He emphadata-sized that real elephants can now live happily with their families in the forest, free from the demands of temple service.
