Abhinash Jamwal (men's 65 kg) will play the semi-finals today, which will put india in the race for another gold medal. Meenakshi started India's victory by defeating Turkey's Nurslen Yalgetkin 5-0 in the 48 kg semi-finals. After this, sakshi dominated Feruza Kazakova of uzbekistan and reached the final of the 54 kg weight category with a win by the same margin. Olympian pooja rani entered the final with a 3-2 verdict in the 80kg category, beating Turkey's Elif Guneri.

Nupur had confirmed her place in the over 80kg category on Friday, taking four indian women boxers to the final. Sanju (60kg) gave a tough fight before losing 0-5 to Kazakhstan's Viktoriya Grafeyeva and will now have to settle for a bronze medal. India had won a total of six medals in the first stage of the World Boxing Cup in brazil earlier this year, in which only male boxers participated.

This is the first time that women boxers are participating in the World Boxing Cup. brazil stage gold medallist hitesh Gulia looked in trouble after the first round against France's Makan Traore in the men's 70kg category. But the 20-year-old boxer landed some powerful punches in the second round and reduced the gap. He performed brilliantly in the third and final round to make it to the final. Jugnoo (men's 85kg) then defeated England's Tegan Scott 5-0.
