Dharshan: Darshan Thoogudeepa is again in the headlines, the actor was seen in the film screening after being absent from the court

Darshan Thoogudeepa Controversy: Darshan and his associates are accused of kidnapping, torturing, and murdering Renuka Swamy. Renuka's body was found near a drain in Bengaluru. Karnataka's famous actor Darshan Thoogudeepa is once again in the headlines. Darshan, the main accused in the kidnapping, assault, and murder of Renuka Swamy in june last year, appeared in Bengaluru on tuesday evening at a special screening of his new film 'Vaman'. Surprisingly, on the same morning, he had distanced himself from the court hearing citing back pain.

Darshan's lawyers claimed that the actor had complained of back pain while in Bellary jail last year, which has now resurdata-faced. At that time Darshan refused treatment at a local hospital and demanded to be taken to Bengaluru. A few days later he got bail on medical grounds and was admitted to a hospital in the city.

At the same time, the judge appeared strict on Darshan's absence in the court. The court said that no excuse will be tolerated in future and the actor will have to be present in every hearing. In this hearing, Darshan also appealed to demand the return of Rs 75 lakh cash seized from his house. All the other accused were present in the court. Last year, all the accused got regular bail, but on the condition that they would appear in every hearing.

Darshan and his associates are accused of kidnapping, torturing, and murdering Renuka Swamy. Renuka's body was found near a drain in Bengaluru. According to the police, Renuka had allegedly sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda and made derogatory comments against him on social media, after which this conspiracy was hatched. A total of 17 people are accused in this case. The police believe that Darshan gave about Rs 50 lakh to four people to carry out this brutal crime. Out of this, Rs 30 lakh was given to a person named Pradeep (alias Pawan) for kidnapping, murder, and disposing of the body. Nikhil and Keshavamurthy got Rs 5 lakh each for the murder and dumping of the body. Apart from this, two other people - raghavendra and karthik - were asked to give false confessions and give Rs 5 lakh to their families to go to jail in place of Darshan and others.

Darshan was arrested in june last year and got regular bail from the karnataka High court in December. However, before his bail, his pictures from the jail went viral. In a photo taken in Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, Darshan was seen smoking a cigarette and relaxing on the lawn. After this revelation, an investigation began and he was shifted to another jail.
