Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday watched the recently released hindi film 'The Sabarmati Report' based on the 2002 Godhra train fire incident in the state and praised the film. An official release said that the chief minister watched the film at a multiplex in ahmedabad city along with veteran bollywood star Jitendra, actress Riddhi Dogra, and gujarat minister of State for home Harsh Sanghvi. It said that after watching 'The Sabarmati Report', Patel, as well as others, have praised the film. The performance of its makers and star cast is also being praised a lot.While praising the film on his x handle, the gujarat cm wrote in the post, "The truth of the extremely tragic and reprehensible incident of the attack on the Sabarmati Express in Godhra was hidden from the citizens of the country for years. An entire ecosystem was behind this, and a conspiracy was hatched to present a false narrative to the people for their political gain. A fearless effort has been made to expose the truth of this incident through the film The Sabarmati Report. The Vikrant Massey-starrer film was released in theaters on November 15. The movie is directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films Production. On 27 February 2002, a coach of the Sabarmati Express train was set on fire near Godhra station, killing 59 people, mostly kar sevaks, which led to large-scale riots in Gujarat. The truth of this incident has been claimed to be shown in 'The Sabarmati Report'. This film has been declared tax-free in many BJP-ruled states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Haryana.
