Triptii Dimri Set to Star Opposite dhanush in Aanand L. Rai's Tere Ishk Mein
Director Aanand L. Rai recently addressed speculation regarding the casting of his upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein, which is rumored to feature Triptii Dimri alongside Dhanush. While Rai didn’t confirm the casting details, he promised that an official announcement would be made soon.
In an interview with Zoom, Rai acknowledged the buzz generated by a report from PeepingMoon about Dimri's involvement, stating, “Let the speculation keep rolling. I will give my cast very soon.” The film, initially announced last year, data-faced delays due to Dhanush's prior commitments, but shooting is expected to commence in October.
Rai also commented on the comparisons between Tere Ishk Mein and his previous film Raanjhanaa, which also starred Dhanush. He noted that while both films share a team—including himself, dhanush, music composer AR Rahman, and lyricist Irshad Kamil—the stories are distinct. “Tere Ishk Mein is a different story, but yes, you may get the fragrance of Raanjhanaa because of the feel, energy, and mood,” he explained, emphasizing that the new film expands on the themes of love and emotion introduced in Raanjhanaa.
The film's announcement coincided with the 10th anniversary of Raanjhanaa, and Rai hinted at its spirit, saying, “Kundan and this boy are the same, but his mood is to blow up the world! Only for you… Tere Ishk Mein.”
Reflecting on his filmmaking journey, Rai mentioned his curiosity about handling tragedy after the success of Tanu Weds Manu. He described Raanjhanaa as a pivotal exploration of love and loss. “Tanu Weds manu was all about fun and games within my middle-class world. Raanjhanaa was a step forward. Twelve years later, this 53-year-old man is keen to see his growth in the tragedy genre,” he shared.
Rai sees Tere Ishk Mein as belonging to the same universe as Raanjhanaa, characterized by similar themes of rage, aggression, and passionate love. He believes that even if dhanush approaches a similar story, he would bring a fresh perspective due to his growth as an actor, writer, and director.
Dhanush and Rai previously collaborated on the romantic drama Atrangi Re, making their reunion in Tere Ishk Mein highly anticipated. Fans are eager to see how this new project will explore relationships and emotions through a different lens.
