Prakash Raj to Play Antagonist in Thalapathy Vijay's Final Film?
Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for his swan song in the film industry with his upcoming project, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, directed by H Vinoth. Set to release in october 2025, the film is generating buzz, especially with reports suggesting that prakash raj may take on the role of the antagonist. While there’s been no official confirmation regarding this casting, it would mark yet another collaboration between the two actors, who have previously teamed up in hits like Gilli, Sivakasi, Pokkiri, and Villu.
In addition to Vijay and prakash raj, Thalapathy 69 is rumored to feature a star-studded cast including Simran, pooja hegde, samantha Ruth Prabhu, Mohanlal, and Mamitha Baiju. There are also speculations that bobby deol might appear as another antagonist.
Produced by KVN Productions, Thalapathy 69 will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The production house recently unveiled the film’s poster, emphasizing its tagline, “Torch Bearer of Democracy.” The caption highlighted the collaboration with Vijay and the film's anticipated music by Anirudh Ravichander.
Interestingly, reports suggest that Vijay is set to become the highest-paid indian actor, with a reported fee of ₹275 crore for this film. Pre-production is currently underway.
After Thalapathy 69, Vijay plans to focus solely on his political career with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. He has reportedly encouraged his party cadre to adopt a Left-of-Centre stance, drawing inspiration from leaders like BR Ambedkar, Periyar, and K Kamaraj, the former chief minister of madras State. Vijay is said to be currently engaged with the book Ambedkar Indrum Endrum (Ambedkar Today and Forever), further data-aligning his political ideology.
