In 2019, the group submitted to the kerala government. The hema Committee report was submitted and was not published by the government for several years. The state government had also set up a separate committee to examine the report submitted by the hema Committee. In this situation, the hema Committee report, which was expected to shock the film industry, was released by the kerala government on august 19, following the order of the court. However, many controversial parts of the report were deleted and only 233 pages were published.
Ever since this report came out, there has been a frenzy in the malayalam film industry. Again various actresses leveled sexual allegations against leading actors and technicians. In particular, the assistant actress revathi Sampath filed a sexual complaint against Siddique, who was the general secretary of the Association of malayalam Movie Artists - AMMA, to the police. Following this, Siddiqui resigned as General Secretary the day before. Also, bengali actress srilekha Mitra resigned as the president of the kerala State Salachitra Academy after filing a sexual complaint against malayalam director Ranjith. These created a sensation in the kerala film industry.
Mohanlal has resigned from the post of President of AMMA Sangh today following various incidents including ongoing sex allegations in the film industry and pressure caused by the hema Committee report. Following Mohanlal's resignation, 17 members of the executive committee resigned from their duties. Apart from President mohanlal, General Secretary Siddique, Executive Committee members Jagadish, Jayan Kurla, Tovino Thomas, Jomol, Baburaj, Unni Mukundhan, Kalabhavan Shajon, sarayu Mohan, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Joy Mathew, suresh Krishna, Tini Tam, Ananya, Vinumohan, Ansipa Hassan and others also resigned.
