Asian suresh Entertainments has acquired the all-India rights to sree Vishnu's "Swag" and Vishwak Sen's upcoming "Mechanic Rocky." Unexpectedly, the price paid to buy sree Vishnu's Swag rights exceeded that of Vishwak Sen's Mechanic rocky by 10%.
Each of the stars needs a $50 million dollar blockbuster. Both have had some success recently, but they weren't huge blockbusters. While Vishwak Sen's films are doing better at the box office than sree Vishnu's, they are having trouble staying in theatres on weekdays following the first weekend.
Samajavaragamana, sree Vishnu's most recent blockbuster, was released in 2023; nevertheless, Om bheem Bush, his previous movie, was a box office bomb. However, although they had some success, Vishwak Sen's Gaami and Gangs of Godavari were not a big hit. It would be intriguing to see if the two heroes, who are moving towards being commercial performers, can pull off the much-elusive big smash.
The last time we saw sree Vishnu was in the movie Om bheem Bush. Positive reviews were given to the quirky entertainment, which was helmed by sree harsha konuganti of Husharu fame, and fared rather well at the ticket windows. Alongside sree Vishnu, priyadarshi and rahul ramakrishna had full-length parts. The film, which deals with a delicate issue, will debut globally on star maa on june 30 at 6:00 PM. It will be fascinating to observe how films do on small screens in this OTT era.
