Recently, in an interview, Kartik said, "I was in a very bad situation in my life at that time. I was an actor and one of my films was released, but I had no other films. Even after the film became a hit, I had no other film offers andI had no money." Kartik said that he was around 22-23 years old at that time and was very worried about money.


Kartik said that despite the success of 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' he was not getting many offers and the ones he was getting were not right for him. He said, "I got the films I wanted even when I refused many things. I refused many films during my bad times. Even when I did not have any films, I trusted my conscience."

Kartik added, "It's not like I had too many options anyway. Maybe I got one or two offers that I could have made money from, but I didn't take those offers. Even after Pyaar Ka Punchnama, I was getting roles of 'hero's friend' or 'hero's brother' and they paid well, but I didn't do that either." Kartik added that he continued to believe in himself, and "it paid off when Sonu Ke Titu Ki sweety released."
