When akshay kumar Said twinkle khanna Was 'Milking' During Breastfeeding: 'My Transformation From Hot Chick To Cow...'

In her Mother's Day special edition, Khanna dedicated her column to talk about the evolution of a mother's roles from her childhood and through her journey into parenthood.

Twinkle Khanna is known for her witty anecdotes that she pens in her column Mrs Funnybones. In her Mother's Day special edition, Khanna dedicated her column to talk about the evolution of a mother's roles from her childhood and through her journey into parenthood.

Twinkle Khanna on motherhood

Talking about how her mother Dimple Kapadia'smajor duties revolved around ensuring that she and her sister, Rinke Khanna finished the two rotis on their plates and had their hair properly braided, Twinkle shared that her task as a modern mother includes much more. For instance; she wrote, thatshe had to moonlight as a therapist, planner, stylist, motivational coach, and nutritionist besides being a hairdresser.

Twinkle recalled her childhood which was about her sister and her doing simple stuff like chasing chickens in a nearby dump, running to a shop for sweets on credit, or collection caps of the soft drink gold Spot, modern mothers are more concerned about their kids' screen time, while also ensuring that they try to 'gently parent' and not scar their kids, something Khanna added mothers of the previous generation were not bothered about.

When akshay kumar indirectly called Twinkle Khanna 'cow'

Sharing a funny anecdote involving Ahsaky Kumar when he indirectly called her a 'cow'. When twinkle khanna became a mother for the first time in 2002, she recalled, when a visitor asked Akshay where Twinkle was, he said she was unavailable because she was 'milking'. Twinkle added, "[That] immediately sealed my transformation from a hot chick to a cow.”

Modern mothers & modern parenting vs the traditional style of it

Twinkle also sheds more light on the struggles of modern mothers as they try to look after the kid(s), ensure they are raised 'right', pursue their careers and maintain health, all simultaneously.

Khanna also added that she worries that modern mothers were wrapping their kids in layers of bubble wrap by raising them for a homogenized and sanitized world that they have no experience in the real world.

Addingthat she wonders if this is the reason why children today look like clones of each other with their similar mannerisms, clothes, and interests.

Khanna also added that she had forgiven her mother ( Dimple Kapadia)after having children of her own.

“Perhaps this Mother’s Day, instead of flowers or candy, I will reserve my present for the future. One day I would like to receive the gift I finally gave my mother. I erased her saintly pedestal of motherhood because pedestals are narrow by nature, and it only takes one twirl to fall. In my forties, I gave my mother the gift of acceptance. I let her know that I didn’t blame her for any inadvertent slip-ups. After having my children, I understood that our job as mothers is not to give our children perfect childhoods but to love them dearly and do our best within our inherent limitations,” Khanna wrote

Addingthat she wonders if this is the reason why children today look like clones of each other with their similar mannerisms, clothes, and interests.

Khanna also spoke about the balance today's moms try to bring in while raising their children. "Too much freedom, and you will be seen as uninvolved. Too little, and you are stifling them,” while also adding that the blame and guilt will remain universal and unchanged for all mothers.
