The DMK alliance in the lok sabha elections has a peculiarity. The party has been allotted two constituencies namely chidambaram and Villupuram. In the chidambaram constituency, the leader of the Liberation Tigers of india Tol Thirumavalavan and in the Villupuram constituency the party's general secretary Ravikkumar is contesting again.


In the last election of 2019, two constituencies namely chidambaram and Villupuram were contested. In chidambaram Constituency, Thirumavalavan won the Panai symbol and ravikumar DMK's Udayasuriyan symbol in Villupuram Constituency. As a result, Vishik candidates contested and won the Panai symbol in the last assembly elections as well.



Therefore, the Liberation Tigers party requested the election commission to allocate a pot symbol to them in the upcoming lok sabha elections. However, the election commission did not accept it. The election commission did not accept this. Against this, a case was filed in the delhi High court on behalf of the Liberation Tigers Party.


During the hearing of this case, the delhi High court ordered that the election commission should decide the allotment of the Pani symbol to the Liberation Tigers of india in the lok sabha elections. However, the election commission of india has firmly stated that the Pot symbol cannot be allotted to Thol Thirumavalavan's Liberation Tigers party in the lok sabha elections. This was also accepted by the court.


In this situation, the Liberation Tigers of india have filed an appeal in the delhi High court seeking the pot symbol. Vishika mentioned in the petition that if a party fields a candidate in two constituencies, the party should be assigned a common symbol. The case is scheduled to be heard this afternoon.
