The Indrani Mukerjea Story: CBI's petition rejected, the investigating agency had demanded a ban on telecast

In april 2012, Sheena was allegedly strangled to death in a car by Indrani, her then-driver Shyamvar Rai and ex-husband sanjeev Khanna. Sheena Bora was Indrani's daughter. A special court in mumbai on tuesday rejected the CBI's plea to stay the documentary series on Indrani Mukherjee. Recently the investigating agency had approached the court regarding this matter.


The court said this

Special cbi judge SP Naik-Nimbalkar said the court did not have the inherent power to stop the telecast. Additionally, the court also asked the investigating agency to approach the appropriate forum if necessary. The docu-series 'The Indrani Mukherjee Story: The Buried Truth' tells the story of the disappearance of 25-year-old Sheena Bora. It is scheduled to premiere on OTT platform Netflix on february 23.


CBI had filed a petition

In the application filed through Public Prosecutor CJ Nandode, the investigating agency had asked the court to issue a direction to ban the accused persons and people associated with the case from being featured in the docu-series until the case is resolved. The trial may not be completed.


The murder took place in 2012

In april 2012, Sheena was allegedly strangled to death in a car by Indrani, her then-driver Shyamvar Rai and ex-husband sanjeev Khanna. Sheena Bora was Indrani's daughter. After the murder, his body was burnt in the forest of Raigarh district. The murder was revealed in the year 2015. After which Indrani was arrested. However, he was granted bail in May 2022. Other accused in the case, Rai, Khanna, and Peter Mukherjee are also on bail.
