Sairam, who was very busy with concerts, was not very interested in becoming an actor. He made his entry as an actor through his close friend actor Baski. Through his younger sister and his younger brother's husband, he got an opportunity to be an assistant director. Sairam's family, relatives, doctors, and friends were the most important factors in his recovery. With their encouragement, he has recovered from cancer. He is still a cancer survivor.
