Loss for kollywood since Vijay left Cinema..!?
Actor Vijay announced his retirement from cinema when he announced his political party. So let's see about the loss that kollywood has to data-face. Actor Vijay announced his political journey on february 2. Accordingly, he named his party 'Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam' and announced that he would act as its leader. In addition to that, he had clearly mentioned in the statement that his party will not contest in the upcoming parliamentary elections and that his goal is to win the assembly elections to be held in 2026 and take power.
Although Vijay's political entry has created a storm in the political arena, it has caused a stir in the film circles. This is because Vijay has announced that he will no longer act in films. Vijay is the actor who has the biggest market in the tamil film industry. Vijay's Leo is the highest opening day tamil film in the history of tamil cinema. The film collected Rs.148 crores. Vijay used to be such a collection star that many actors' films could not reach this collection in a single day even in a lifetime. His films are not only popular in tamil Nadu but also in states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Karnataka. Vijay, who used to be the box office king of kollywood, has now suddenly announced his retirement from cinema, which is seen as a huge loss for tamil cinema.
As of now, Vijay is acting in two films a year. It also collects nearly Rs.1000 crores. For example, Varisu and Leo were released last year starring Vijay. Out of this, Varisu had collected Rs.310 crore and Leo had collected Rs.620 crore. Together, these two films have grossed nearly Rs.930 crore.
As Vijay's market continued to soar, while kollywood was eagerly waiting for his subsequent films to reach Rs.1000 crore collection, he announced his retirement from cinema, and it is seen as a huge loss for Kollywood. Only time will tell whether Vijay's decision to leave cinema will be reconsidered.
