Senior PI Ganesh Pawar of Mumbai's Versova police station told that Farooq Kabir's wife Sanam and mother-in-law Dilfuja were produced in the bombay high court on january 16. After that day's proceedings, the court has fixed Monday, january 29 for the next hearing. Farooq Kabir's newborn daughter is still with her mother.
Director Farooq Kabir had filed an FIR against his wife and mother-in-law at the Versova police station. Farooq Kabir had complained against his wife, mother-in-law, and wife's stepfather tejas Khanna for stealing their newborn daughter and fleeing the country. Based on this complaint of Farooq Kabir, the mumbai Crime Branch team arrested Farooq Kabir's wife and mother-in-law from amritsar and handed them over to the mumbai Versova police station on 31 december 2023.
On december 31 itself, mumbai police presented Farooq Kabir's wife Sanam, and mother-in-law before the holiday magistrate. The magistrate directed to send everyone to police custody. When he was produced in the court the next day, the court directed him to send him to judicial custody. But on the request of Farooq Kabir, instead of sending him to judicial custody, the court released him on conditional bail. According to Farooq Kabir, his daughter is still very young, so he did not want his daughter to data-face any trouble due to sending his wife and mother-in-law to judicial custody.
