The Three Versions Of Devil Direction ‘Credits’

S Venkateshwari
The premiere of kalyan Ram's Devil is barely a day away, and the actor has been quite busy with promotional events. The dispute over the film's direction has been in the headlines for a time after the director's name was changed to that of the producer, and it has now reached a climax with the director naveen Medaram releasing an open letter about being 'discredited' from the film and by the producer.
It is well known that naveen Medaram voiced his unhappiness over the lack of directorial credit for his film and remarked that the dispute is the product of a few thoughtless actions motivated solely by ego and profit. He also stated that he would not pursue legal action against any individual or the film, even though he worked on it for 105 days. That is one interpretation of the Devil debate.
Abhishek Nama, the producer, has now spoken out about the scandal, providing a second version of events. He added that he realised and informed the crew that naveen Medaram was unable to manage Devil, so he took over and finished the film with the support of the team. Amidst this, a third version based on industry insider discussion claims that naveen Medaram was not just involved in script edits and reshoots. While the director, producer, and hero of the film are all optimistic about the picture, it all depends on how it comes out.
