Recently a user on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared the video on the microblogging site and wrote, “For Vijay’s salary his acting is not up to the mark comparing mammootty and mohanlal said Shine tom Chacko.” Previously, Shine tom Chacko made a statement about his co-star Thalapathy Vijay’s acting in Beast which left the Varisu actor’s fans angry. He discussed a scene where Thalapathy had to lift him. The malayalam actor pointed out, “Usually, you can see the difficulty in the data-face when someone lifts a weight. But Vijay did not show anything like that on his data-face. Vijay Sir cannot be blamed for that. The film crew is the reason.” This led to Shine tom Chacko receiving much backlash and negativity on social media.

Shine tom Chacko is a popular malayalam actor who made his debut in the tamil industry with the movie Beast by Nelson dilip kumar opposite Thalapathy Vijay. However, a few months back, he data-faced massive backlash after he criticised the protagonist’s acting skills in the movie Beast. Now, he has found himself in yet another controversy after he questioned whether Thalapathy Vijay is as great an actor as mammootty or Mohanlal.

In a recent interview with a media channel, actor Shine tom Chacko sparked controversy yet again while he addressed the topic of gender pay disparity in the industry. He shared that this is the most debated issue and further expressed that salary is not just dictated by gender or acting skills but also by the star power of an actor and their capability to attract an audience. The malayalam actor made these remarks in response to a question regarding Thalapathy’s whopping salary compared to Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s salary. He pointed out that not every actor who has the title of Superstar needs to get similar remuneration as Thalapathy Vijay.

He further emphasised his point by stating that the earnings of legendary superstars like mammootty, mohanlal and kamal haasan get lesser pay than the master actor if the title superstar was the sole determining factor. Shine tom Chacko concluded that the disparity in pay transcends beyond gender bias, superior talent or acting chops. He rhetorically questioned whether the market demands alcohol or the Bible.
