The tastes of the public have altered; it is no longer simply the millennials who are asking that directors break away from predictable mass templates. This is not to say that these formulae do not work; they do, depending on the release season. Even if the film is a success, neither the performer nor the director will gain significantly.
We have a relatively small number of directors that fit under the 'New Age Mass' category. Currently, the only two directors in this category are kannada filmmaker prashanth neel and tamil director lokesh Kanagaraj.
There are other top and successful filmmakers in the South, but they do not fit into this new-age mass category:
• trivikram Srinivas: Family dramas.
• Sukumar: Rustic stories.
• koratala Siva: Social dramas.
• Shankar: Social dramas and sci-fi.
• Nelson: Routine action.
• Atlee: Routine action.
With the publication of the Animal trailer, a third entrant into this exciting new age mass category: sandeep Reddy Vanga, is now in the running. The Animal trailer's main storyline isn't innovative, but its ultra-modern presentation works wonders. Following the release of the trailer, the film is expected to have a blockbuster opening in hindi and Telugu, with high expectations.
If sandeep Vanga delivers Animal up to expectations, matching the trailer's presentation, there's no question a new filmmaker will enter this new era mass category, climbing to the top level. His next project, already signed with Prabhas' Spirit, strengthens this likelihood even further. It should be noted that Rajamouli's name has not been mentioned since he is in a league of his own, with no one even getting close to his vision.
