The much awaited mammootty film 'Kathal: The Core' is coming to the screens. The film will be screened at the 28th IFFK. jio Baby is Kathal's directorial which will be screened in malayalam cinema Today section. Two malayalam films have been selected for the film festival competition category. They are Don Palathara's Family and fazil Razak's Prison. Other films being screened in the cinema Today section along with Kathal are Ennen, Five First Dates, Neelamudi, apple Plants, B32 to 44, Shehar Saade, Attam, Dayam, Oh Baby, anand monalisa and Kath, Valasai Parvaval. The 28th kerala Film festival will be held from december 8 to 15. Earlier Mammootty's Nanpakal Neerath Mayakam, directed by Lal Jose, was also screened at the film festival.
Kathal is a malayalam film in which jyothika is coming as the heroine after a gap. Lalu Alex, Muthumani, Chinnu Chandini, Sudhi Kozhikode, Anagha Aku, Josie Sijo, adarsh Sukumaran and others are playing the lead roles. The cinematography is by Salu K Thomas while the music is composed by Mathews Pulikan. Kathal is produced by mammootty Company. Meanwhile, Kannur Squad is Mammootty's latest release. Based on a true story, the film is directed by Robbie Varghese Raj. Aziz Nedumangad, Shabarish Verma, Vijaya Raghavan, Rony etc. were in lead roles in the film.
