Shatrughan Sinha talks about not talking to rekha for 20 years, says- 'My wife was facing problems'

Recently, in an interview, shatrughan sinha opened up about his cold war with rekha and revealed why he had not talked to her for 20 years.

Bollywood actress rekha is known as Evergreen Beauty. The actress turned 69 on 10 october 2023. On this occasion, her co-actor shatrughan sinha said that he was surprised by Rekha's timeless beauty. Let us tell you that there was a cold war between Shatrughan and rekha for almost two decades, but with time they reconciled. Now in an interview, the actor has revealed it.

Shatrughan Sinha spoke about his friendship with Rekha

In an interview with 'Zoom', shatrughan sinha talked about his personal and professional relationship with rekha and expressed surprise at how old she is. Calling her a timeless beauty, the veteran actor said it is hard to believe that rekha has turned 60.

He said, "How old is Rekha? Has she crossed 60? It's hard to believe. She has maintained herself very well. rekha is a timeless beauty and is unmatched. Many people have copied her style." But rekha is Rekha. Unique, no one like her."

Shatrughan Sinha recalls his early projects with Rekha 

Further in the interview, shatrughan sinha recalled those early days when he entered the world of acting almost simultaneously. Initially, both of them worked together in the film 'Dost Aur Dushman', in which Sinha had a guest appearance and later both played important roles in the film 'Do Yaar'. Talking about the same, the actor said that rekha looks more picture-perfect than before. 

In her words, "Rekha and I did many films together. We started our careers almost together. I think the first time we worked together was in 'Dost Aur Dushman', where I had a guest appearance. Then 'Do Yaar' came, where she was the heroine and I was the bad boy. rekha at that time was very different from the picture-perfect rekha of today."

The cold war between shatrughan sinha and Rekha

However, their relationship was not always harmonious, as there was a rift between them during the production of Rakesh Roshan's film 'Khoon Bhari Maang'. It so happened that there was a minor disagreement between Shatrughan and rekha, due to which there was silence between the two for more than two decades. Sinha admitted that when their cold war was going on, he made many vulgar comments about Rekha.

He said, "We disagreed on some stupid issue. After that, we didn't talk to each other for more than twenty years. I was sarcastic about him. I shouldn't have done that. It's a good thing." rekha never retaliated. She is a very generous woman with a big heart."

Shatrughan Sinha's wife Poonam Sinha helped him to reconcile with Rekha 

In the same interview, shatrughan sinha revealed that it was the intervention of his wife Poonam Sinha, who helped him reconcile with Rekha. Since Poonam and rekha used to be best friends. Their friendship became strained due to the Cold war, so Poonam helped resolve the differences between the two for personal reasons. 

Talking about the same, Shatrughan said, "She was none other than my wife Poonam Sinha. You see, rekha and she were close friends and my so-called cold war with rekha created problems in my wife's friendship with Rekha. I was doing it. They included us in their favor and I happily agreed to let bygones be bygones."
