Reportedly as the shooting of Superstar Rajinikanth's 170th film started... the issue of Vanniyar Sangam raising the war flag against this film has created a stir. The shooting of this film started on (October 4) in Thiruvananthapuram, kerala with a very simple pooja. Superstar Rajinikanth, actress Manju Warrier, Vijay tv host Rakshan, director T. S. Gnanavel and many others participated in this. Also in the film leader 170, amitabh bachchan, Bhagat Basil, Rana Dagupathi, Tushara Vijayan, and ritika singh are among others. Gnanavel for belittling and disparaging the Vanniyar community and portraying our late Vanniyar Sangh leader Maveeran as a negative character." Even though the entire Vanniyar community and other fraternal communities protested, it was Dr. Gnanavel who did not even directly apologize for what he had done so far. State Vanniyar Sangh Secretary Vaithi said in his statement that the people of the Vanniyar community should not support any film made with the contribution of Gnanavel, which has such a tendency, and should boycott it in solidarity and register our protest.
