Star heroine pooja Hegde's departure from Mahesh Babu's guntur Karam is one of the most talked-about departures from a movie in recent memory. She appeared in several of Trivikram's earlier films, like Arvinda Sametha and Ala Vaikuntapurramloo, thus it is not surprising that she is in Mahesh, the director's new picture. However, the fact that she was replaced with a different heroine astonished many. Numerous rumours regarding the incident spread, however naga Vamsi of Sitara Entertainment has now clarified it.

Sreeleela was cast as the movie's second lead back when pooja hegde was the star, and both participated in the filming at the time. Rumours circulated that Sreeleela was the second heroine at the time, and pooja was shown the departure door. Meenakshi Chaudhary was cast as the second lead after Sreeleela was later elevated to the role of the movie's main woman. Some claim that pooja was removed because of an argument she had with trivikram and Mahesh.

Vamsi claims that Pooja's shooting dates conflict with a bollywood film because guntur Kaaram's release date was changed from august 2023 to january 2024, which affected all of the filming schedules. He claimed that all speculations regarding Pooja's withdrawal from the movie were untrue, with the exception of dates clashing.

Unexpectedly, pooja has lost out on a few more telugu films since leaving this one, including Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh. The natural star of Nani's upcoming film with director Vivek Athreya is eventually choosing his own gang leader famed priyanka Arul Mohan, even though she was also considered to play the lead role.
