remake films are nothing new for Chiranjeevi. In reality, since starting his second innings, chiru has performed three remakes: Godfather (a lucifer remake), khaidi no 150 (a Kathi remake), and now Bhola Shankar (a Vedalam remake). The graph is obviously going downhill. Bhola shankar is Chiru's poorest remake in this trio of remakes. Meher Ramesh, the film's director, deserves credit for this because his outmoded directing failed to convey the charm.
Chiru's mannerisms helped him carry off the kushi midriff (Nadumu) scenario convincingly. However, they are forced situations that won't give the movie any weight. His attempts to mimic Pawan's mannerisms appear unwelcome. Even netizens slam and call 'Chiranjeevi' 'Cringeevi' for his cheap acting.
Additionally, little real attempt was made to keep it current and relevant. Meher Ramesh, the director, is renowned for his elegant presentations. He failed this time in both flair and substance. He was unable to match even one fashionable scene with his fave Mega Star. Both flair and substance were lacking in Bhola Shankar. The movie's opening act is a complete letdown. Even the conclusion is uninteresting since everything about it is predictable. The lack of drama or passion in the movie disengaged the audience.
