Bail granted to Brij bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod..!?
The court has given its verdict regarding Brij bhushan Sharan Singh, accused in the case of sexual exploitation of women wrestlers. While hearing on bail, the court granted regular bail to Brij bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar. While hearing, the Rouse court ruled to grant regular bail to both. In the sexual harassment case, delhi police filed a charge sheet on 15 June. Delhi's Rouse Avenue court has granted regular bail to Brij bhushan Sharan Singh, outgoing president of the Wrestling Federation of India, and Vinod Tomar Singh, assistant secretary of the federation, in a sexual harassment case registered on the basis of complaints from several wrestlers. The court granted bail to both of them on a personal surety bond of Rs 25,000 each. While granting him bail, the court imposed several conditions. The court said that the accused shall not directly or indirectly induce the complainants or witnesses and shall not leave the country without the permission of the court.
The court has ordered the President of the Wrestling Federation of India, Brij bhushan Sharan Singh, not to leave the country without the permission of the court. The next date of hearing for scrutiny of documents is 28 July 2023. bjp MPs Brij bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar appeared on tuesday in the case of sexual harassment of women wrestlers. Then the court granted interim bail to Brij bhushan Sharan Singh and Tomar on regular bail fixing the date of July 20. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjit Singh granted the relief to Brij bhushan Sharan on a personal bond of Rs 25,000.
Brijbhushan sharan Singh has two FIRs registered in the case of sexual harassment of women wrestlers. An FIR was lodged by a minor female wrestler but later she withdrew her complaint. On june 15, the delhi police filed a charge sheet against Brij bhushan Sharan Singh and others in the court. The police had also appealed to cancel the POCSO case after withdrawing the complaint in the minor's case. According to Special Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava, the chargesheet was filed under sections 354, 354D, 345A, and 506(1) of the IPC.
On june 15, the delhi police filed a charge sheet against Brij bhushan Sharan Singh, former president of the Wrestling Federation. In the charge sheet having more than one thousand pages, at least 100 people have been questioned and their statements recorded. There are 15 witnesses who have testified in favor of the wrestlers. Statements of the friends and family members of the wrestlers have also been included in the charge sheet.
In fact, two cases were registered against six-time mp Brij bhushan Sharan Singh on the orders of the court. One case has several serious allegations including sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, stalking, and wrongful confinement. While in the second case sections of other charges including POCSO have been registered. However, after the minor wrestler withdrew the charges, the police requested the court to abolish POCSO. On the other hand, the delhi police, after filing a charge sheet against the former wrestling federation chief in the Rouse Avenue court, said that sufficient evidence has been presented to prosecute and punish the accused. The court had summoned mp Brij bhushan on 18 July.
