Directed by Mari Selvaraj, Mamannan is a movie starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahad Fazil, and Keerthy Suresh. While the film Mamannan, which was released a few weeks ago, was getting mixed reviews, the film crew attended the success meet and talked about it. Speaking then director Mari Selvaraj shared an incident about actress Raveena ravi who played the role of Jyoti in the film. He said that he never knew she was a dubbing artist before he opted for her.
He further said, "My wife said that she looks like a salem girl. I wanted such an important data-face so I chose Raveena Ravi. In one scene, Fahad fazil rushes to the bedroom and gets the gun. Fahad had lipstick on his shirt when the hug scene was over. I asked how your lipstick came to Fahad's shirt and she said I got tempted... Then we removed the lipstick through CG..."
Maamannan performed well in its second weekend in India, bringing its total to about Rs. 50.50 crores. Since the first weekend, tamil Nadu has accounted for the majority of the movie's revenue, with low receipts beyond the home state. The movie finished the year as the fourth highest-grossing movie in tamil Nadu with a total box office take of Rs. 44 crores, falling behind the three big blockbusters, Varisu, PS2, and Thunivu.
