Shonali Nagrani expressed pain on divorce with ex-husband Shiraz Bhattacharya, saying- 'I was broken'
Recently, Shonali Nagrani has spoken about her separation from her husband Shiraz Bhattacharya.The past few years have been challenging for Shonali Nagrani. She struggled to come back after her marriage with Shiraz Bhattacharya, but she data-faced difficulties. The two got married in february 2013 and parted ways in early 2019 due to some differences. Now in a conversation with 'ETimes', the actress said, 'My husband and I separated in february 2019 and the divorce process is underway.'
Shonali Nagrani told about the pain of divorce
Shonali says, “I was emotionally broken at one point and had no energy for work, family, or investing in myself. I hated myself and my self-esteem plummeted. I didn't know when I said goodbye to Shonali who loved to giggle and laugh, but soon I realized I had a choice. Instead of feeling like a victim and living with bitterness or focusing on picking up the shattered things again, I chose to turn my bad situation into a blessing. I did personal growth and self-discovery with it.The actress, who has hosted several shows including indian Cricket League, says, “I did not work for five years after getting married, which made it difficult for me to restart my career. Like many of us, I tried to engage on social media, but the truth was, I didn't. At one point I was so broken that I thought of leaving mumbai and showbiz and going to Goa."
'Tandav' changed Shonali's fate
The actress further revealed that destiny had a better plan and at the same time she got a call from a casting company and soon she got a role in the web show 'Tandav'. Shonali says, "It felt like a miraculous turn. I didn't even have to audition for the character and before I knew it, I was signing the contract at the producer's office. That project introduced me to the industry." And saved the city from being abandoned."Shonali considers marriage as the biggest teacher
The actress admits that her new outlook on life has changed her approach to art. She says, “Most actors doubt themselves for a scene, but going through tough times has taught me not to take life and myself too seriously. You have to be able to laugh at yourself and data-face adversity. From that point of view, my marriage was my greatest teacher."When Shonali was asked if she misses a partner? So he said, “I have been single for the last four years and I am loving every bit of it. Of course, I miss a partner, but it is for a short period. I might have developed trust issues, but I haven't tested them yet." As of now, we wish the actress to find a new partner.
