Not only has the
movie "Pathaan" generated controversy, but it also appears to be a
box office success. Despite being in its third week of release, the
movie continues to earn astounding sums. Couples opted to
watch the film rather than visit parks on Valentine's Day. "Pathaan" brought in a staggering Rs. 5.65 crores on that one day, making it the highest-ever single-day haul for an
indian film in its third week. If the
movie keeps doing well, it might break "Baahubali-2's" current third-week record of Rs. 50 crores in
box office receipts. Pathaan is competing with Aamir Khan's "Dangal" on this list.
In contrast to the norm, "Dangal" and "Baahubali-2" were able to sustain consistent
box office numbers during this time, which allowed them to break records. Currently on track to surpass those records is "Pathaan". In addition, "Pathaan" is expected to set a record for the highest take from a
hindi film. The total revenue from "Baahubali-2" in
hindi is about Rs. 510.99 crore, compared to Rs. 493.25 crore for "Pathan."
However, "Shehzada" and "Ant-Man" will be released this week and will compete with "Pathaan." It has been noted that "Shehzada" and "Ant-Man" haven't generated much interest, therefore "Pathaan" may not have much competition. "Pathaan" has been a smash hit not just in
india but also abroad, where it has amassed a total of Rs. 360 crore.
