Besharam Rang, a song from the movie Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan and deepika Padukone, had previously caused a stir as right-wing organisations and certain politicians said it was offensive to the saffron colour. Soon after, calls to boycott the movie were made. On january 25, Pathaan's release date, certain theatres around the nation were similarly vandalised. yogi adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has now spoken out about both the Besharam Rang scandal and the Boycott bollywood movement. He advised filmmakers to exercise caution when it comes to what they portray on screen in an interview.

In the interview, yogi adityanath advised the movie-makers to avoid using any scenes that would cause controversy or offend the sensibilities of the general public. According to the cm, a film's director "should also take into mind that it should not feature moments that could give rise to controversy or damage public sensibilities" when creating a film, according to News18.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, had previously spent two days in Mumbai, where he had meetings with a number of famous people, including Jackie Shroff, sunil Shetty, boney kapoor, Khailash Kher, and Sonu Nigam. He met with them all and discussed the possibility of offering incentives for filmmakers to come and shoot in UP. suniel shetty requested the CM's assistance in putting an end to the boycott of bollywood during the meeting. The actor claimed that 99 percent of bollywood doesn't use drugs and instead focuses on working hard to connect with the public, making it crucial to get rid of the popular hashtag #BoycottBollywood in order to improve the industry's reputation.
