Is This A Worthy Date Samantha?

The long-delayed gunasekhar film Shaakuntalam, starring samantha Ruth Prabhu, will now open in theatres on february 17 in an effort to capitalise on the Mahasivarathri festival (February 18). However, many are speculating as to whether this date was wisely chosen by the film's producer (Gunasekhar) and distributor (wholly and alone), dil Raju.

First of all, Samantha's movie isn't the only one in theatres on february 17th; other movies like Vishwaksen's Dhamki and Dhanush's debut telugu movie SIR are also showing. While SIR will have incredible publicity because it is produced by none other than sithara Entertainment, Dhamki has Vishwak Sen, who is renowned for his aggressive marketing campaigns. Additionally, samantha is currently unable to engage in vigorous movie promotion, which gives the competition a slight advantage over her in Saakuntalam.
Even industry insiders believe samantha should have gone on a solitary, secluded date so that the movie would have some fantastic openings. In contrast to Yashodha, this film is a romantic action drama set against an epic backdrop, and while A centres could watch for the visual effects and presentation, B & Centers might be attracted by the main heroine's gorgeous appearance. Let's wait and see what happens.
