Although tom Hardy's anti-hero has been referred to as the "last chapter" in Sony's upcoming Venom 3, this raises concerns about any potential future crossovers between Sony's Spider-Man Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite having a strong relationship with Spider-Man, Venom's live-action trajectory at sony has been entirely separate. Since Eddie Brock left a portion of his symbiote in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Venom is anticipated to appear in both franchises. Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage established Venom as the most heroic, if not the most powerful, of the symbiotes.

Venom 3, the "last chapter" of Sony's Venom films, would be written and directed by Kelly Marcel, it was confirmed in october 2022. (via Deadline). The conclusion of Venom's saga in his third appearance doesn't harm the character because hollywood frequently uses trilogy structures. Eddie Brock and Venom still have a lot of uncharted territory to cover. They haven't encountered Spider-Man, run into any of the other sony anti-heroes, or completed the setup from Spider-Man: No Way Home. Outside of Spider-Man, Venom is Sony's most well-liked character, and he still has too much potential to be abandoned.

Spider-Man: No Way Home's symbiote setup appears likely to be repaid in the form of a Symbiote Spider-Man plot or a Spider-Man vs. Venom crossover because another MCU Spider-Man trilogy is in the works. In keeping with Spider-Man: No Way Home, such a crossover would be a major occasion and provide the MCU and Sony's Spider-Man Universe with additional potential for future hit stories. Technically, tom Hardy's role in Venom 3 could be his last in the SSU; he might then be moved to the MCU so that Eddie Brock can finally battle Peter Parker.
