The impact of the most recent kannada hit "Kantara," which is doing exceptionally well in the kannada, Telugu, and hindi box offices, is not only confined to those revenues. The Daiva/Bhoota Kola dance was represented in the movie, and because of the tremendous praise the movie garnered, not only did many people in india learn about it, but the government was also moved.

The festival of Bhoota Kola, which is held in the karnataka area of Tulunadu, is the subject of the movie. When someone breaks the pledge they made to the local deity, the myth is about how the hero becomes possessed by the animist spirit form of God. After seeing the movie, though, people began to speculate as to what may have happened to so many elderly Bhoot Kola dancers who had devoted their lives to serving God.

The karnataka government has now given a monthly allowance of 2000 for the old Daiva Narthakas who are over the age of 60 after learning that many of these elderly dancers are having trouble paying their bills. All praise goes to the "Kantara" film for bringing attention to the situation of these Bhoota Kola narthakas. This is what happens when a good movie is released, and we must commend writer-director Rishab Shetty and the lead actor for doing such an amazing job of telling a story about the deeply ingrained Hindu culture that many people are unaware of.
