The reason Keanu Reeves was chosen to voice Batman in DC League of Super-Pets is discussed by co-writer and director Jared Stern. Reeves will portray the Dark Knight in DC League of Super-Pets, which hits theatres on July 29, before his battle with the High Table in john Wick 4. The animated movie's focus is on the pets of DC's well-known superheroes, as suggested by its title. The film also stars Dwayne Johnson as Krypto, Kevin Hart as Ace, john Krasinski as Superman, Marc Maron as Lex Luthor, Vanessa Bayer, Kate McKinnon, natasha Lyonne, and Diego Luna, in addition to Reeves.
Stern and co-director sam Levine's film follows Krypto the Super-Dog, Ace the Bat-Hound, and a misfit collection of super animals on a rescue mission after Superman, Batman, and the rest of the Justice League are taken hostage. The film is inspired by DC Comics' Legion of Super-Pets. Kevin Conroy, who many consider to be Bruce Wayne/iconic Batman's voice actor, is a part of the adventure, but Reeves dons the animated cape in DC League of Super-Pets.
"Then Keanu Reeves' voice just seemed like such a perfect complement for that; I think he would have made a fantastic live-action Batman, but he's magnificent as our animated haunted Batman and, most importantly, for our movie. He seems like a guy who could use a pet a lot. And he truly enjoyed doing it. I'm anxious to direct actors who I've adored my entire life and I believe he was incredibly pleased to play Batman. It kind of brings back your childhood when you work on an animated film, and playing Batman was enjoyable.
