Ant-Man 3 Will Change The MCU Permanently, Says Peyton Reed

According to director Peyton Reed, the events in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will alter the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever. For the first time since the Infinity Saga's events, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are reprising their parts in the franchise. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will have its premiere in february 2023, was one of the MCU's projects announced at its San Diego Comic-Con 2022 panel.

Kevin Feige stated that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will launch the MCU's Phase 5 slate during the convention as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever concluded Phase 4. The film's first trailer was also unveiled at the event, with exclusive content seen only in Hall H. In it, Scott Lang, the Pyms, and Cassie Lang—who is now portrayed by Kathryn Newton—all make a comeback. The first look at Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror is arguably the most interesting thing to come out of the video. There wasn't much more information provided about the threequel's story details, and given that it won't be released for another few months, it seems logical that Marvel Studios is delaying the creation of any marketing strategies.

Reed tells Access in an interview at San Diego Comic-Con that they are really eager about the Ant-Man sub-franchise to launch MCU Phase 5 despite his refusal to share specific movie spoilers. The MCU will be irrevocably changed as a result of the events in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, he continues. Sadly, he doesn't elaborate on that further, but it is a really audacious claim.
