Invitation to top celebrities for chess Olympiad..!?
The Chess Olympiad will be held for the first time in India. This competition has been announced from 28th of this month to 10th of next month. More than 2000 contestants from 188 countries are expected to participate in the 44th Chess Olympiad to be held in Mamallapuram. Along with this, the Olympiad torch relay was held in Kanchipuram. prime minister Modi will visit chennai on a two-day visit to inaugurate the Olympiad.
 Besides, a local holiday has been requested for the districts of chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and kanchipuram as there will be traffic congestion due to the arrival of participating players and important dignitaries. The Principal Secretary youth Welfare and sports Development Department have been requested in a note to grant a local holiday to government offices and private institutions for only one day on 28/7/2022.
Subsequently, on Thursday, a government order has been issued to give a local holiday to the 4 districts of chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and kanchipuram only, excluding the government departments that provide essential services, other offices, schools, and colleges. On that note, the fourth saturday has been declared as a working day to compensate for the holiday.
Along with this, on the occasion of prime minister Modi's visit, traffic has changed in various areas around chennai on Thursday. Celebrities including actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, and ajith have been invited to participate in the competition as special invitees.
All india Chess Association and tamil Nadu government have invited.The famous Napier Bridge, built over the Cooum River earlier to commemorate the Olympiad, is painted like a chessboard. While standing on this bridge, the music director AR rahman released a video of the song Welcome To Namma Ooru Chennai. The bridge connecting madras university and Theevu Ground is a famous landmark of Chennai. The bridge has now become a selfie spot.
