Pancham da fell in love with famous singer asha bhosle and proposed marriage in front of her. Asha Tai also had a love for Pancham da, but she refused to marry them. Pancham Da was born on 27 june 1939 in the house of famous musician Sachin Dev Burman (SD Burman). Pancham Da himself, who made the whole world dance to the tune of his music and felt love, was also very romantic in his personal life. There was a time when he was giving heart to Asha Bhosle. According to lata mangeshkar, 'When Pancham and Asha got married, Pancham told me that Didi, we do not want any expensive gift from you. If you want to give me something then write a counseling letter for me and tell me what should I do and what not for a beautiful married life. lata mangeshkar had told that Pancham da kept that letter of lata mangeshkar for the rest of her life.

Pancham Da and asha bhosle, who were in love with each other, had become life partners. But his journey was very short. Let us inform you that Pancham Da died due to cardiac arrest on january 4, 1994, at the age of 54 and he went away from Asha Tai forever.
