Gal Gadot has offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Wonder Woman's tumultuous third act, which had a different, less action-packed ending. Patty Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman, has previously addressed the ending revisions, claiming that Warner Bros. forced her to make modifications at the last minute. Furthermore, the tonal shift in Wonder Woman 1984's portrayal of the character demonstrates Jenkins' intent.

With a Wonder Woman-centric video game in the works and a third solo outing for the character now in development at Warner Bros., the DCEU rendition of the legendary comic-book superhero has soared her popularity. Wonder Woman 1984 was met with lukewarm reviews from both reviewers and audiences, a far cry from the near-universal adulation that the first Wonder Woman got.

The third act, on the other hand, was a stumbling block for many fans, who thought it was unnecessarily VFX-heavy and dragged down the realism of the first two-thirds. Jenkins' comments about needing to rewrite the film's ending in order to include more action sparked outrage among fans. Gadot shared a snapshot to her instagram account showing herself watching an edit of the sequence with the remark, "So much drama..." This appears to address the negative reaction many fans had to Wonder Woman's conclusion. Gadot didn't say whether the photo was taken during the creation of the first Wonder Woman, but considering the nature of the post, it's safe to assume it was.
