During CinemaCon, tom Cruise announces the official title for the next Mission: Impossible 7, and it's a mouthful. The Mission: Impossible film franchise has been going strong for 25 years, with the first film being released in 1996. The most current film in the franchise, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, starring Cruise as superspy Ethan Hunt, was released in 2018 to critical and popular acclaim.

Shortly after the release of Mission: Impossible – Fallout, it was reported that director Christopher McQuarrie would reunite with Cruise for two more chapters, which would be shot simultaneously. The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic caused significant delays to both films, with the second instalment now due to release in July of 2023. While storyline details for the films have yet to be revealed, they are likely to serve as a send-off for Hunt, with Cruise hinting that his Mission: Impossible 7 exploits will be the most perilous ever, including a scene in which he rides a motorcycle off a cliff.

With the excitement for the impending Mission: Impossible film growing, fans now have an official title for the film, albeit a lengthy one. The upcoming film will be titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, according to a recent report from Variety. The title was released by Paramount Pictures on thursday at CinemaCon, which is presently taking place in Las Vegas. With "Part One" in the seventh film's title, the eighth film's title will most likely be Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.
